With the winter and spring rains, the creeks and streams in the Blue Ridge Mountains are running again and that is music to my ears. I could sit near a mountain stream like this all day enjoying the pulse and splash of the rushing water…

I walk along the trail of dreams immersed in mist and thought, and shake off the chill of reality where nothing is as it seems… A contrary way of thought, in this 21st century, that easies my weary soul: like avoiding the news.

An early 20th century farmhouse, loaded with country charm, sits nestled in among the forest of spring…Miles from nowhere, on a back road in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

I often speak of history when I show my images taken on the back roads of the Blue Ridge Mountains…when I do, I am talking about the history of the building (s) in the scene. I speak of this history in terms of the lives that have touched these lands and how the land, buildings, and many generations of people have lived, grown, suffered and shared immense love and happiness…this is the history that keeps me coming back to these places and fills me with great peace as well as, sometimes, great sadness.
