It’s Time to Boycott Mainstream Media

Mainstream media in the United States has always tried to dictate how we should think and sway us to believe that their word is the last. Now, they have pushed a lot of us over the edge!

It seems that every mainstream media outlet in this country is on the Obama payroll; they’ve leaned so far left that they are about to tip over and we have the power to make them fall…or at least hurt.

If you are like me and many others I know you are sick of this belittlement of our intellect and ready to hit back!

Now is the time to cancel hard copy (newspapers, magazines etc.) of all outlets who practice this one sided approach to journalism. If they have paid website subscriptions and you are a subscriber cancel it. If you visit online media sites that are free and want to keep doing that, don’t click on any ads. Boycott any advertisers who buy time on television during news programming. NPR radio is as big a violator of our rights to fair and unbiased reporting as anyone and if you donate money during their fund drives don’t do it next time.

Apparently, the only way that we can fight back is to hit them where it hurts…the money!

I hope you will join me in this fight and spread the word as well as apply some of the suggestions I’ve made. If you blog then write about who you feel about their practices and encourage others to write and boycott too.

If they start seeing their profits beginning to dwindle perhaps they will realize that if they want to earn our trust and keep it they will have to learn to practice responsible journalism!

  1. who are “they”? and what’s the problem with their money?
and, of course, obama is the better option. following the evil to the gates of hell will not solve a single problem in our world..

  2. Wow, fabulous photos. And a great post. Switched over to MSMBC’s Morning Joe again this morning, thinking I would give him another chance after refusing to watch the network for weeks. It took me about 5 minutes to figure out that the show had devolved from Clinton Derangement Syndrom to Palin Derangement Syndrom. Absolutely disgusting. We should also be writing the advertisers to complain about this crapola.

  3. I am asking and recommending that all who read this blog to boycott all print media e.g., newspapers, magazines, and journals. To change media bias, everyone should boycott the following televised programs: CBS, NBC, CNN, and MSNBC. Should enough Americans, boycott these mediums for a month, they will begin reporting the news and not telling us what to think, how to vote, and who to hate. Join me in boycotting the news and entertainment media from September 7 through October 7, 2008. Should you decide to join me in this endeavor, this would mean that you should not buy any print media or watch any news programs on the above mentioned broadcastin stations or any of their affiliates. If you decide to join me in this boycott, send me a quick message through an email at, notifying me of your participation.
Thank you very much for your support. Let’s force the media to perform their jobs with factual information and not personal, bias, hyperbole.

  4. Wouldn’t it be more effective to boycott the companies that advertise on those network newscasts?
Their ratings are already awlful and that hasn’t done anything.
    Hit’m in the wallet!

  5. Boycott, boycott, boycott. All of their shows, their advertisers etc. No mention of the history of our financial problems and who caused it. No mention of earmarks for Acorn or its fraudulent past. They dont even try to hide their bias anymore.

  6. It is absolutely despicable to watch or listen to any of the above mentions networks that are MSM. It is tremendously degrading and an insult to our intelligence, the viewer. We expect them to report the news and not just tell stories that are indicative of the bias political affiliation.
We should form and organize a real group to boycott these stations, even after the election.
If Obama should win, then we should boycott for the duration of 4 years. It is true that now with the internet, consortiums have never been easier. Lifestyles would change for the better because we would be eliminating all the negativity that we expose ourselves and our families to by watching and hearing such bilge from MSM.

  7. I am totally with you on the mainstream media boycott and have a website that you can go to, sign up and become part of a movement that believes we can make a difference by boycotting the mainstream media and their advertisers.

We are beginning a grassroots boycott of the mainstream media networks and their complete programming lineups. By decreasing their Nielsen Ratings we devalue the worth of their advertising products and by further boycotting their advertisers we give the mainstream media outlets a choice: they can either reconsider their obviously slanted positions in regards to most political and social issues and become the objective journalists that they should truly be or they can continue to run their current course of ignoring the other half of Americans who can and will vote with their media interaction and pocketbooks.

Spread the word and direct people to this site!

I’m email you Donna as well, thanks for you efforts.

  8. I have been wanting to join with others like you who think about the mainstream media as I do. I am glad to have found your site! I cancelled my cable a year ago, and I have not looked back. And no, I don’t live with my head in the sand. I simply get actual news and analysis from people and orginizations who are willing to report it accurately. To be honest with you, I don’t miss the garbage that comprises current programing at all. I just got fed up and decided that the only way I could have my voice heard was to turn theirs OFF. What I find particularly frightening, is the fact that this is how most dictatorships (or at the very least authortarian-type regimes) begin. They begin with a media that forgets that it’s job is to question government; not to become it’s enforcer.

  9. I hope you realize that Fox is mainstream media. And they lie about things just like any other channel. They twist the truth to lean to the right. I’m not saying other stations don’t do the same, leaning to the left, but if you’re going to boycott Mainstream media to try to make the point that you want unbiased news, you may not want to watch an extremely biased news channel while you do so.

    Just a thought,

  10. Sorry, I assumed you were part of the Fox Channel “Boycott The Mainstream Media” effort. It’s their new fad.
I respect your idea a lot more now, you actually practice what you preach, that’s hard to come by.
    Good luck!

  11. It is bizzare to think that Fox News lies and strecthes the truth.People who say that aren’t whatching. Maybe those who are so blinded by the White House and government media will wakeup and realize how misguided they are.

  12. Somebody needs to start circulating a list of their sponsors with contact info, because complaining to and boycotting the networks themselves will accomplish nothing, we need to start draining their wallets directly. Maybe those behind the bias can turn their noses up at us and pretend serious critics don’t exist, but they will no longer be able to do so if they become liabilities and net losses to the cooperations whom provide their income.
