Little Beauty

Little Beauty
This little beautiful butterfly is the Red-banded Hairstreak (Calycopis cecrops [Fabricius]) with a wing span of 7/8 – 1 1/4 inches (2.2 – 3.2 cm). This one, feeding on Joe-Pye weed, was at the smallest one I have ever seen.

Old World Craftsmanship

Old World Craftsmanship

This house was built when real lumber was used and builders were craftsmen, and not simply creators of houses but homes. The couple of steps you see at the bottom of the pic are some of the original steps.
