This nursing fawn was no more than 10 minutes old when this photo was taken. I got to them just in time to watch the fawn struggle to its feet for the first time…mom was still cleaning her baby as it fed for the first time. It was an amazing experience!

A couple of years ago I thought this little log house, on a back road in Amherst County, was doomed to go the way of too many other old buildings. It was in such disrepair that I feared it would be torn down to make way for a more modern home, but alas, to my delight…someone saved it.
