Mayapples carpet the forest floor on a mountain crest and are this thick for at least a half mile. The Appalachian Trail runs right through the center of them and a littler later in spring Trillium in pinks, whites and lavenders will bloom profusely among the mayapples…it’s one of my favorite parts of the trail!
