A Country Road in Spring

I love driving the back roads in the Blue Ridge Mountains any time of year, but there is something very special about a rainy day in spring. Everything seems so fresh, so alive and effervescent. Breathe in the pungent scent of the damp forest floor and the chill in the air. Feast your eyes on the sweet innocence of new, and renewed, life that blankets the forest and offers peace that cannot be found elsewhere. Stop and take the time to really drink it all in and appreciate that places like this still exist…it’s something your grandchildren or great-grandchildren may not have the opportunity to do. Capture it and pass your experiences along in pictures and words for future generations to know what we had and spoiled for them…Let them know how much you loved it and wish you could have saved it for them!
